Los Amigos Invisibles is a performance-oriented Latin dance band from Venezuela whose influences range from funk and disco to electronica, and acid jazz. Band members Julio Briceño (vocals), José Luis Pardo (guitar), Armando Figueredo (keyboards), Mauricio Arcas (percussion), José Rafael Torres (bass), and Juan Manuel Roura (drums) built a popular following with a series of underground dance parties at clubs in Caracas.

The group's 1995 debut album, A Typical and Autoctonal Venezuelan Dance Band, was wildly popular in the Venezuelan club scene. The group relocated to New York in 1997 and distributed copies of their release to a few record stores. David Byrne stumbled across their recording and signed the group to his Luaka Bop imprint. They released their American debut, The New Sound of the Venezuelan Gozadera, in 1998 with producer Andres Levin.

In 2000, the band worked with producer Philip Steir in San Francisco on Arepa 3000 a Venezuelan Journey into Space, which was nominated for both a Grammy and a Latin Grammy. Their recording Venezuelan Zinga Son was released in Europe, Japan, and the United States in 2004. Their latest release, Super Pop Venezuela, on their own label Gozadera Records, was nominated for a 2006 Grammy for best Latin Rock/ Alternative/Urban Album.
