code of conduct
Stern Grove Festival is committed to providing a neutral and harassment-free experience for all event participants – attendees, sponsors, exhibitors, vendors, speakers, staff, workers, and volunteers – regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, national origin, ethnicity, race, political affiliation, or religion.
We do not tolerate harassment of event participants in any form (written, electronic, verbal, etc.). Sexual language and imagery, verbal threats or demands, offensive comments, intimidation, stalking, sustained disruption of sessions or events, and unwelcome physical contact — all are not appropriate for any festival venue or festival-related events.
Additionally, Stern Grove maintains a policy of safe, neutral conversation using any kind of technology (phones, emails, social media, etc.). We do not permit debates regarding gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, national origin, ethnicity, race, political affiliation, or religion at our events or on our platforms, but rather invite all attendees to converse about music and festivals within a neutral festival forum.
Festival partners are also subject to this Code of Conduct. In particular, exhibitors should not use sexualized images, activities, or other material, and booth staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualized clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualized environment.
By securing any pass to, vending for, sponsoring, or working at any Stern Grove Festival event, you are expressly agreeing to comply with this Code of Conduct and the policies set forth above.
Failure to meet Code of Conduct standards will firstly result in a warning, and any additional issues will result in a ban.
Event participants asked to stop harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
We expect event participants to follow these rules at all Stern Grove Festival venues and festival-related events.
At Stern Grove Festival’s sole discretion, event participants violating this Code of Conduct may be sanctioned or expelled from an event and/or banned from future Stern Grove Festival events.
If you experience or witness a violation of this Code of Conduct, please inform: Event staff (identified by a festival-branded t-shirt); or
Security staff stationed throughout the venue(s); or
Contact us by emailing hr@sterngrove.org and our leadership team will address the situation.
If you are experiencing an emergency, contact Stern Grove Festival staff immediately for assistance.
We value your attendance and thank all our event participants for helping in keeping our events welcoming, respectful, and fun for all.
