  • Lauded as an experimental and alternative band and one that’s never been married to a particular genre, Phantogram – comprised of lifelong friends Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel – have continued to change the zeitgeist for almost a decade by consistently challenging it with their signature blend of hard-hitting beats, guitar driven dark psychedelia and electronic pop. Since the arrival of 2010’s debut release, Eyelid Movies, the duo has amassed over a billion streams, achieved one platinum-certified single, two gold-certified singles, collaborated with legends such as Tom Morello, Billy Corgan, The Flaming Lips and Miley Cyrus, partnered with Big Boi of Outkast to form supergroup Big Grams, headlined sold out shows worldwide, become a festival staple and toured with artists including Arcade Fire, The xx, Muse, M83, alt-J and more.

  • Gentle, wild and hauntingly ethereal, Ha Vay is here to sweep you into the unknown. Fascinated

    by life’s mysteries and existential questions from a young age, she writes and creates in an

    attempt to understand the world around her as she lives a strangest, unconventional and

    adventurous life. Her music serves as a diary, often contextualizing her experiences through

    classic tropes from literature, folk tales, and other beloved stories.

  • I am a Seattle native, raised by some pretty hip parents who had me listening to everything from Dead Can Dance to Queen Latifah. I’ve been furiously putting together playlists and mixtapes since I was old enough to open cassettes and record songs off the radio.

    My journey with KEXP started in 2006, as a DJ assistant to Michele Myers on Friday nights, and I continued working off and on with her, and in events, on pledge drives and more for the next seven years. In 2014, I stepped behind the mic for my first show on air as a DJ and fell right in love with live radio and music curation, and the connection with listeners across the world.

    These days I am your Drive Time host, every Tuesday-Friday, from 4-7 PM Pacific time. Expect to hear some of my all-time favorites in the mix, from Daft Punk to Japanese Breakfast, and Dan the Automator’s many projects. And tons of new music, too! Every time I’m on air I make it a point to dig deep for music I’ve never heard or played, to make sure I’m always finding and sharing something new.
