JAVIER & BRIAN’S DRUM WORLD introduces the exciting percussion world through four interactive videos.
Each video is centered around a theme such as:
“Rhythm and the Three “S’” of percussion; Shake, Scrape & Strike.”
“Dynamics: Rhythmic patterns that can be played fast, slow, loudly or softly.”
“Call-and-Response: exploring the differences between a Parrot & an Echo.”
And finally a “DIY (Do-it-yourself) Percussion instrument: An approach to using household items that can be created or used for drumming.” Each video has a “play-along” to reinforce the lesson and ending with a separate “play-along” rhythm.

This video lesson is led by Ms. Kyra and explores the relevance of the cherry blossom to Japanese culture, as well as Japanese fan dancing (Nihonbuyo). Kids will learn different gestures to symbolize the joy of cherry blossom watching and explore storytelling through more minute movements and props.
